On Saturday, we’ll be hosting a pottery workshop where you’ll learn to create your very own pour-over coffee drippers, perfect for enhancing your morning routine. Then, on Sunday, we’ll head over to UnwindGr, a cozy crochet haven in the heart of Grand Rapids, where we’ll spend the day crocheting coasters for our pourovers and connecting with fellow makers. Whether you're new to crochet or a seasoned pro, UnwindGr’s welcoming atmosphere is the perfect place to unwind, learn new techniques, and create something special.

One Time Wheel Throwing

Class Description:
This is a one time, 2 hour workshop.
Participants will be led through the introductory techniques of creating a piece on the wheel, spend time apply the instruction, and each participant will be able to choose a piece to be fired into a finished ceramic work of art.

Build your personalized tea steeping mug at Earthbound Ceramics using handbuilding techniques, then participants in the workshop will take a short walk to Gathered Botanicals to discover the world of herbal teas. We will delve into medicinal herbs that can safely assist in supporting our bodies through various stages. Discover the magic of clay and sound in this hands-on Ocarina Handbuilding Workshop.
The ocarina is an ancient wind instrument that produces melodic, flute-like tones.
The very talented Bethany of Root&Roost will teach you using handbuilding techniques, you’ll shape, carve, and personalize your ocarina.
Bethany is a ceramic artist and educator who creates and teaches from her chicken-coop-turned-studio at Plainsong Farm in Rockford, MI. While she’s been working with clay since childhood, her love for ceramics and wheel-throwing truly took hold after her first class in 2020. When she’s not in the studio, you’ll find her exploring the woods, working in the fields, or creating in her kitchen. Bethany teaches both wheel and handbuilding classes to all ages, bringing a love of craft and community into everything she does.
